X-Pac® VX21
X-Pac® is the world’s most popular laminated pack fabric and X-Pac® VX21 is 100% climate neutral. The low-stretch, 100% waterproof construction consists of four layers. A 210-denier abrasion-resistant face fabric, an X‑PLY® fiber reinforcement for waterproofness, a lightweight taffeta backing for enhanced stitch-hold and a woven backing .
Stringbean Bags uses X-Pac® VX21 as one of the primary fabric for our bags. It has been proven to perform for years and provides an ideal balance of weight and durability.

X-Pac® LS21 is a 100% waterproof Lite Skin® fabric designed specifically for abrasion resistance. LS 21 utilizes a three-layer construction with the same 210d nylon face as VX21, but is applied to the back-side of the laminate. The result is a highly abrasion-resistant face-fabric, with similar stitch-holding properties as VX21, but at a lighter weight.

ECOPAK™ from Challenge Sailcloth is the world's first 100% recycled laminated pack fabric - designed from the ground up to meet or exceed the technical properties of traditional laminated nylon while also being good for the environment. ECOPAK™starts with a 100% recycled REPREVE polyester face, then adds a proprietary 100% recycled film to make everything waterproof. An environmentally friendly, PFC-free C0 DWR also provides water resistance to the face fabric.

ECOPAK™ offers the same qualities and feel as VX21, but is lighter, more water resistant, and is manufactured with 100% recycled polyester. Each yard of ECOPAK™ fabric uses at least 20 recycled plastic bottles in the production process and emits 50% less CO2 than nylon, saving over a pound of CO2 per yard. In addition, the production uses no solvents, fluorocarbons, or ovens, and creates no wastewater.
It absorbs 80% less moisture than traditional laminated nylon and is 97% more UV resistant, which means it lasts 5 times longer in the sun than conventional film used in other fabrics - a big breakthrough in extending performance.

CORDURA® 1050d Ballistic Nylon is a rugged fabric with military heritage that is highly tear and abrasion resistance. 1050d Ballistic Nylon fabric is the strongest and most durable fabric for its denier weight level. The polyurethane coating also ensures this fabric repels water to keep your valuables dry. This level of durability, abrasion resistance and water resistance is why we uses Ballistic Nylon for all frame contact points on our Pinto top tube bags and custom frame bags.
